New Year's Resolutions

With 2018 ahead of us the usual New Year’s Resolutions have been made to improve our lives, such as drink less, eat healthy and keep fit.

Though the start of 2018 has us concerned about plastic and the 8 million tonnes that end up in our oceans each year!

Watching Blue Planet II with David Attenborough, over the festive break the programme has really struck a chord with us. It has us talking and thinking about plastic pollution and what we can do to help the environment.

Start with simple things in the home, forget plastic straws and cotton buds and replace with paper, really get into the habit of carrying a shopping bag with you, don’t leave it in the car! Switch to a reusable bottle and coffee cup when you are on the go. The internet is full of helpful ideas to help reduce our plastic intake.

Here at Rural Magpie we recycle and reuse as much packaging as we can, we also ask you to do the same. Let’s try and encourage everyone to be sensible with their plastic choices and try, as Greenpeace say, “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”.

We are up for that.

Happy New Year to you all and to our wonderful planet and all the creatures upon it.
