The Shortest Month In the Year

THAT WAS FEBRUARY

Well we are nearing the end of February, the shortest month in the year.  I hope many of you managed to fill your days with fun things to do including eating Pizza’s on National Pizza day which was on 9th February.

On Valentine’s Day we decided to have the Fred Sirieix Valentine’s meal deal (from M&S) that included a lovely bottle of Prosecco.  It saved us cooking!  Then there was Shrove Tuesday.  Love pancakes – the original flavour of lemon and sugar I think is the best.  There are some strange pancake fillings out there including Tuna and Banana – I thought that flavour was a joke, but it does exist!

More recently, we have had some positive news from the Prime Minister regarding the easing of lockdown restrictions with his four monthly steps and hopefully by the end of June all restrictions will be lifted.  Which means, all being well and good, the Rural Magpie fairs will be able to return (although the April jewellery fairs will not be going ahead).

Did you know that March is National Craft Month?

Just in time for March we have created a new collection, Art and Crafts Fair Online where you will find fabulous paintings by local artist, Patsy. For a glimpse see our featured image above or click on the link to go straight to the collection.

At home our kitchen floor is now down and fabulous it looks too. If you are local to Cambridge, Sawston, Newmarket, Babraham, Linton, Great Abington and surrounding villages I can thoroughly recommend Nick at NRS Carpets who offers a home service in carpets and flooring.
At Christmas I was gifted a couple of colouring in books, they are not just for children, many adults are now enjoying this favourite pastime, including me.  I have found myself whiling away the hours in front of the TV quietly being creative with my pens & pencils.
If you want to forget the news and the coronavirus crisis situation, get creative and de-stress with colouring in.  It is ideal for those parents that are home schooling and feel the need to chill or have your children join in with you. If you don’t have a book, you can easily print pages from the internet click here for a link to free colouring in pages.

Don’t forget March is National Craft Month, now go get creative.

Keep safe and well.  Wash hands and keep your distance from others.

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog.
